WaterWatch/Companies

All 9 UK water companies

WaterWatch monitors live sewage discharge events for every major water company in England. Each company has its own page showing current discharge status and site map.

Important — data limitations

WaterWatch displays data published by the water companies themselves via their Event Duration Monitoring (EDM) systems. This data has known limitations: sensors can malfunction, go offline, or report inaccurately. A site showing “not discharging” does not guarantee no discharge is occurring — it means the monitor has not reported one. This is especially relevant for companies where live monitoring only started recently. Do not rely solely on WaterWatch to make decisions about water contact activities. Always check official guidance from your local authority and the Environment Agency.
